1. Create your guide.
Get clear on who you are, what matters to you, and what you want from work and life through a variety of discovery exercises and assessments. Good career coaching is comprehensive in nature and takes into account the multiple facets of your life, so that you are making decisions for sustainable, successful, and happier results. This work will source new ideas and options for great next steps.
2. Explore different routes.
Now that you have identified options, it’s time to narrow them. Working with your top 2-3 ideas, you will explore them. This is the “try it on before you buy it” phase. Activities involved in this phase may include research, networking, interviews, and other tactics. The idea is to gain a real sense of the bright spots and the challenges of each potential path.
3. Decide & map it out.
At this point, you can make an informed decision with excitement and confidence and then chart your path forward by formulating a strategy and timeline for achieving it. This will either be your action plan for your job search strategy, or a longer-term plan on the steps you will take in order to go from where you are to where you want to be.
